The Art of the Rose
Working in watercolour and acrylics the artist, Charlie de Lacey, looks to capture the ephemeral beauty of the rose. From traditional botanical watercolours given a softer more translucent quality to modern large abstract canvases.
The abstract botanicals in acrylic depict the unique signature of each rose in terms of shades of colour and the complexity of the roses’ patination. The paintings have a mesmerising effect.
Watercolour prints are available here. The botanical abstract original works of art, in acrylic on canvas, may be viewed exclusively at the Rose Garden Gallery by appointment. To request a catalogue or a viewing please complete the contact us form.
